With the certainty of spring just around the corner, LocalShare volunteers teamed up with members of the First Presbyterian Church in Blairstown NJ this month for a presentation of LocalShare’s GIFT program. Donned in her tool apron and with a trowel in hand, Karen opened the presentation and inspired home gardeners to begin thinking about the upcoming planting season. Kaye Evans followed with yet another inspired plea to the public to consider planting a bit extra in their gardens this year and in turn using that abundance to help feed those in need through our GIFT program.  After the church service, the event continued in the meeting hall where both ideas and seasonal soup were shared. Several attendees signed up on the spot to volunteer for the pantry group this season and many more left with fresh ideas to consider this spring.

Mark your calendars for two upcoming events! The next presentation of GIFT will be held on Sunday March 9th at the Knowlton Methodist Church and the public, as always, is encouraged to attend. A public showing of the movie “A Place at the Table” will also be held at the Knowlton Methodist Church on Friday March 14 at 7 pm with great snacks and open discussion following the showing.
