Gleaning Farm-Fresh Food For Those in Need

Reducing Food Waste and Food Insecurity

The Gleaning Program

Generous Farmers  >>  Volunteer Harvesters >>  Food Pantries >> Food for Those In Need

LocalShare connects food pantries and local farms so that crops left after the harvest–food that usually goes to waste–feeds hungry families instead. We need volunteers to help with gleaning (aka harvesting) and delivery to food pantries. This is a great way to give back to the community while getting fresh air and a little exercise. We’re looking for individuals as well as groups from corporations, churches, youth and community organizations. Email Christine@FoodshedAlliance.org or call 908-362-7967 for more information.
